Before establishing Cynara Gardens in 2024, Charlie has worked in and out of horticulture for over a decade and in between has been a teacher in Prague, a forest school educator and now runs this businees as a sole trader. After returning from Prague, Charlie became fixated on growing and propagating his own plants and through sharing the passion of gardening with his father, joined forces to take on West Dorset gardens.
Now, with horticultural training at Mappercombe walled garden and a Diploma at the British Academy of Garden Design his current projects include a planting design of a rural cottage garden and the planting of a wildlife pond in Beaminster amongst routine garden care and planting design projects in the West Dorset area.
Charlie spends much of his time dedicated to researching beautiful planting combinations, growing food and travelling where a botanical discovery is always a justifcation for a slight 3 mile de-tour.
